I went to see Ira Glass on Saturday night. Ira-ncredible. He’s a real dude, with a real cadence, who interacts with the world in a real way. It was motivating in a “make me get up and write a bit and get my ass to yoga followed by staying off the computer all day” kind of way. But, that’s not what this post is about.

This post is about a mention he made, plugging 15-year old Tavi Gevinson’s blog Style Rookie along with her newly created website Rookie. FIFTEEN years old and, starting at age 12, this chick has traveled the globe to meet designers for runway shows. She blogs. She does candy reviews. She posts diy tutorials on how to make killer crowns and find photography backgrounds.

One of Ira’s best one liners was, “don’t wait for someone else to give you permission to do what you want to do.” Tavi Gevinson, case in point. Good work.
